Dr. Kusa was born in a coastal town by the Atlantic Ocean in Africa. During the Trans-Atlantic slave trade, the town was a middleman between European traders on the coast and traders from the hinterland. While he was growing up with pigs, goats, chicken, dogs, and cats all around the house as one family, he always wanted to care for these creatures.
He graduated from the Moscow Veterinary Academy in 1992 with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and worked in small animal dynamic practice in Europe for over 15 years before moving to Winnipeg. Here he took more training in human diagnostic medical sonography and is both American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer and Canadian Registered Generalist Sonographer. He briefly worked at Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg performing diagnostic ultrasound on humans before proceeding to get his veterinary licensure in Canada. He performs ultrasound examinations on pets at other veterinary clinics in Winnipeg and enjoys diagnostics including imaging. He has being performing ultrasound examinations at Seven Oaks since 2017 before finally joining the Seven Oaks Veterinary Team in 2023 and he is a wonderful addition to the team.
